WASHINGTON, D.C. – No. 1/5 Shenandoah baseball earned its 10th straight win Sunday with a 17-0 non-league shutout at Gallaudet.

Freshman Reeves Lowry, making his first-ever varsity appearance, allowed just one hit in 7.0 innings of work to pick up the victory.

Lowry (1-0), who carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning, struck out six (including his first hitter) and walked just two.

He lost his no-hitter on an infield single in the fifth.

Ryan Kinter and Brian Roden pitched the eighth and ninth, respectively, to close out the contest.

The SU offense scored runs in all but the fourth and seventh innings and plated three runs each in the first and second.

Abel Arocho, Jake Loew and Chase Smallwood had three hits each with Smallwood and Loew both driving in three runs each as well.

Arocho had two RBI, including the game winner. In the first, Tristan Baker led off with a double down the right field line and came home on Arocho's double to right center.

Loew had a two-run triple in the second with Smallwood roping a two-run triple to center in the sixth.

The Hornets had 17 hits in the game with Dan Cameron and Luke Nussman getting two each.

The shutout is the second of the weekend for coach Kevin Anderson's club and the fourth of the year.

Shenandoah faces a huge game on Wednesday as it travels to ODAC leader Washington and Lee for a 4 p.m. start.
