Leading 44-42 with 46 seconds remaining, W&L (10-11, 6-7 ODAC) got a steal in the Shenandoah frontcourt and converted a pair of free throws to essentially seal the victory.
SU (4-18, 1-12) was able to cut the deficit back to two points, 46-44, with four seconds left following an Erin French free throw, but the Generals hit a pair from the line two seconds later to close out the win.
The closing run finished out a contest in which the two teams traded the lead eight times and were tied on four additional occasions.
Shenandoah last held the lead following a Mia Moore layup with 33 seconds remaining in the third.
W&L hit a 3-pointer to start the fourth, giving the Generals the lead for good. This advantage was never more than five points and was a one-possession contest for most of the stanza.
Casey Taylor, who hit those clinching free throws with two seconds remaining, had a game-high 19 points.
Ailyn Kelly had 12 rebounds for the Generals, who had a 43-32 advantage on the glass.
