EMORY, Va. - The Shenandoah University softball team completed its perfect week by sweeping an ODAC doubleheader with Emory & Henry Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets (20-14, 8-8 ODAC) were 16-2 winners in the opener before taking the nightcap 6-2.
Game one against E&H (10-21, 2-11) was halted after five innings due to the NCAA mercy rule.
Freshman Megan Tripp (7-5) went the distance in the nightcap, allowing the two runs on six hits and one walk. She struck out two.
Freshman Kimberly Brady led the way with her bat, hitting solo dingers into the gap in the both the third and sixth.
Junior Erica Kondzielawa backed her up with three hits with Brittany Guepe getting two in four at-bats.
The Hornets banged out 20 hits in game one, including at least one by all nine starters and four from Morgan Coble.
Coble got SU started with a three-run HR in the top of the first and also had an RBI single in the fourth.
Brady followed Coble's home run with one of her own and then had an RBI single in the fourth as well.
Kondzielawa rounded out the longballs with a two-run shot in the third.
The Shenandoah outfield was a combined 10 for 14 with nine RBI in the contest.
Stephanie Cameron (13-4) struck out nine in four innings to earn the win.
SU returns home for the first time in nearly a month on Thursday with a ODAC doubleheader against Randolph-Macon. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00.
