WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team opened up its 2019 season with a 5-3 non-league victory over PSU-Altoona late Saturday night.
Playing indoors at Winchester Country Club, Shenandoah (1-0) took a 2-1 lead after doubles before clinching with wins at Nos. 1, 2 and 4 singles.
IN BRIEF
Darian Diaz and Bryan Harris were both double winners for SU while Brenton Baugh had the match-clinching win. He defeated Jaydan Jacobs 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles to finish off the victory over the Lions (0-3).
The match at No. 6 singles was abandoned due to time constraints.
UP NEXT
Shenandoah is off until opening ODAC play on February 21 versus Washington and Lee. That match will also be held indoors at WCC.
