Macon Shuts Out Men's Tennis

WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Randolph-Macon fought off a pair of match points on its way to a 5-0 ODAC men's tennis victory over Shenandoah University Friday afternoon.

Playing indoors at Winchester Country Club, Darian Diaz and Bryan Harris had a pair of match points in the tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles, but saw the Yellow Jackets (5-4, 5-4 ODAC) duo escape with an 8-7 (8-6) victory.

IN BRIEF

Playing to decision, the 'Jackets completed the sweep with 8-3 and 8-0 wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles, respectively, along with straight set wins at Nos. 3 and 4 singles.

The closest singles match for Shenandoah (3-11, 1-9 ODAC) came at No. 3, where Kyler Apgar fell 6-0, 6-2.

UP NEXT

Shenandoah completes its season on Sunday with a 1 p.m. home match versus Ferrum College. This doubleheader with the SU women is also Senior Day.
