WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University softball team earned its first ODAC win of the season by splitting a doubleheader with Guilford College Saturday afternoon.

Shenandoah (4-12, 1-7 ODAC) was an 8-4 winner in game two after the Quakers (1-5, 1-5) won game one, 5-0.
GAME ONE
GC scored three runs on three hits and three walks in the first inning of a 5-0 victory.

Quakers starter Katie McNeill (1-2) struck out 11 and scattered four hits in the shutout victory.

Nikki Stone,
Taylor Glover, and
Meghan Stout had the Hornets hits.

Megan Scalley (1-7) took the loss after allowing three runs on three hits and three walks in 2/3 of an inning.
GAME TWO
Shenandoah broke open game two with two runs in the third, three in the fourth, and two in the sixth to double up the Quakers, 8-4.

Alley Schey,
BayLee Jenkins, and Stout all had two hits with Jenkins, Stout, and
Sammy Amateau driving in two runs each.

Amateau had what proved to the game-winning RBI with a two-run single to center in the fourth.
Â
Jenkins had run scoring singles in the fourth and sixth with Stout driving in the first run on a single to left in the first and the third run on a double to left in the third.

Kayla Stephenson (3-4) went the distance for the victory. She gave up four runs (two earned) on nine hits while striking out three and walking none.
