Hornets Conclude Season at ODAC Championship

NELLYSFORD, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's golf team concluded ODAC Championship play at Wintergreen Resort's Stony Creek Course – Monocan/Shamokin courses. Wintergreen is a par-72 course playing 5,676 yards. The Hornets remained in eighth place out of eight teams after posting a team score of 408 (+120) in the final round.

Karlie Zamora once again led the Hornets, carding an 87 (+15) for the day. Zamora continued her upward climb on the leaderboard and finished in 29th place individually. She played steady bogey golf on the front nine before birdieing two of the last three holes to finish with a 43. On the back nine, she opened with back-to-back pars and closed strong, recording pars on three of the final four holes for a 44.

Alexa Strohman concluded her tournament with a 95 (+23). She recorded a 48 on the front nine, highlighted by a par on the par-5 ninth hole. On the back nine, she shot a 47 and notched another par on the par-4 15th. Strohman finished in 32nd place overall.

Amanda Dasher finished third for the Hornets with a 108 (+36). After a rough start on the front nine, she settled down to post a 57. She improved by six strokes on the back, shooting a 51 that included her lone par of the round on the par-3 16th. Dasher finished the tournament in 38th place.

Carley Westmoreland rounded out the Hornets' scoring with a 118 (+46). She recorded a 55 on the front nine and a 63 on the back. Westmoreland concluded her first-year campaign in 39th place.

Washington and Lee led from start to finish to claim the ODAC Championship, holding off Randolph-Macon, who posted a better third round but ultimately finished as the runner-up. Lynchburg placed third, followed by Virginia Wesleyan (+139), Averett (+163), Bridgewater (+167), and Sweet Briar (+230). Shenandoah rounded out the field with a tournament total of +350. Morgan Mussatt of Randolph-Macon earned individual medalist honors, finishing at +6 for the championship.  

After the championship concluded, the All-ODAC teams were released and Isabelle Schultz was named to the All-ODAC Sportsmanship Team.

The Hornets have concluded their 2024–25 season and will now look ahead to building momentum for next year's ODAC campaign.
