Men's Golf Opens Play in Ninth at Mason Dixon Collegiate

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The No. 24 Shenandoah University men's golf team played in the first round of the 2026 Mason Dixon Collegiate on Saturday and is currently in ninth with a score of 294 (+6).

Conor McCarthy and Braden Hermansky lead the Hornets following the first day of play, each tied for 12th at 72 (E). The duo each recorded a 37 (+1) on the front nine and a 35 (-1) on the back. Both of their days started with a birdie on hole one before each added two more birdies on the back half of the course.

Caden Sherman, Mason DuHaime, and Elliott Anthony are all tied for 50th with scores of 75 (+3). Sherman played bogey-free golf on the front nine with two pars for a 34 (-2) heading into hole ten. DuHaime went the first six holes at par or better as he added three birdies throughout his round. Anthony played his best golf on the back nine with a 33 (-3), which was nine strokes better than his play on the front half.

Swarthmore currently leads the 21-team field with a score of 282 (-6).

Shenandoah and the rest of the field play the final round on Sunday.
