Men's Golf Places Second at West Pines Collegiate

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - The No. 24 Shenandoah University men's golf team finished second at the West Pines Collegiate, shooting 847 (-5) as a team for the three-round tournament at the par-71, 6,832-yard West Pines Golf Course.

The Hornets finished behind No. 10 Oglethorpe, who was the host institution and won the tournament at 835 (-17). SU did finish infront of No. 20 Babson.

Braden Hermansky tied for fifth at the tournament recording a total of 209 (-4). The sophomore shot 68-70-71 for the three rounds with 11 total birdies. Hermansky had the matched the best finish out of ODAC golfers who participated in the tournament.

Mason DuHaime was a stroke behind Hermansky with his 210 (-3), which gave him a share of seventh, along with two other golfers. DuHaime went 69-70-71 over the last two days of action. His first round started with 11 straight holes of bogey-free golf, which was highlighted by three birdies. 

Conor McCarthy had a three-round score of 215 (+2), with rounds of 71-71-73. He carded the only eagle of the tournament for the Hornets, which was on the 501-yard, par-five hole eight during this final round. Overall, McCarthy finished tied for 21st.

Caden Sherman finished tied for 24th with a score 216 (+3) with scores of 75-73-68, tying with Hermansky for the best single-round score by a Hornet this week. During his final round, he record six birdies, including three straight on holes 15-17.

Elliott Anthony tied for 89th with a score of 229 (+16), going 73-72-84 over the last two days. During the back-nine of his second round, the first-year played bogey-free golf.
