Women's Golf Finishes 12th at Home Tournament

CAPON BRIDGE, W.V. - The Shenandoah University women's golf team concluded its Shenandoah Fall Invitational on Sunday, finishing 12th with a 719 (+143). Batten University won the tournament with a two-round score of 633 (+57).

The Hornets' second-round score was 366 (+78) as a group. Alexa Strohman led the way for the Hornets on Sunday, carding an 88 (+16), improving two strokes from Saturday. The junior had five pars on Sunday, helping her tie for 54th.

Gaby Frick had the next-best overall score for SU, completing the tournament with a 179 (+35) and tying for 58th. Frick scored a 94 (+22) during the second round, landing a birdie on hole 11.

Carley Westmoreland finished with a share of 62nd, carding a total score of 180 (+36). During her second round, she had a birdie on the par-three, 113-yard hole four, helping her earn a 91 (+19).

Sophia Hansen came in next on the leaderboard tied for 65th with a 182 (+38). She recorded a 93 (+21) on Sunday with three pars.

Amanda Dasher climbed two spots on the leaderboard and finished tied for 79th with a 198 (+54), which included a 98 (+26) on Sunday. The Sunday performance included a birdie on hole nine, which is a par-five.

Individual player Sofia Bogaty wrapped up in 85th with a score of 210 (+66). She rounded out the tournament with a 106 (+34) for round two with two pars.

UP NEXT

The Hornets are at the Bridgewater Invitational from September 21-22.
