Hermansky Ties for First at Gate City Invitational; Hornets Place Third

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Shenandoah University men's golf team concluded the Gate City Invitational in third place after finishing the third round with a 283 (-5). The third-round score brings the team's total to 862 (-2). Huntington College won the team title at the tournament with a 279 (-9).

For the second tournament in a row, Braden Hermansky tied for first overall on the player leaderboard with a 213 (-3). The sophomore scored a 71 (-1) for the third round. His back nine was bogey-free, with two birdies, helping him move six spots up on the leaderboard.

Mason DuHaime jumped 20 spots on the leaderboard after scoring a 67 (-5) on Tuesday, giving him a share of fifth place. DuHaime sank seven birdies during the last round as he finished the tournament with a 214 (-2).

Elliott Anthony tied for 11th at 215 (-1). He matched his second-round score of 71 (-1) during the third round. He started the day with 11 straight pars and then rounded out his tournament with six straight pars or better, including birdies on holes 16 and 18.

Conor McCarthy shot a 221 (+5) across the three rounds, tying for 27th at the invitational. On Tuesday, he recorded a 74 (+2), highlighted by consecutive birdies on holes 12 and 13.

Caden Sherman moved up one spot on Tuesday after registering a 74 (+2) during the third round with three birdies. Overall, Sherman scored a 225 (+9) for the three rounds and tied for 46th.

UP NEXT

Shenandoah has a few weeks off before heading to the West Pines Collegiate at the West Pines Golf Course on October 5th and 6th.
