Men's Golf in Fourth Following First Round of Cardinal Fall Classic

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Playing at the Cardinal Fall Classic at Black Rock Golf Course, the Shenandoah University men's golf 'B' team is fourth after round one with a team score of 311 (+23).

The Hornets have eight players in the tournament, with five counting towards the team points and three playing as individuals. 

Individuals Davis Hutchins and Ashton Shifflett are both inside the top 10 on the leaderboard. Hutchins is tied for fifth with a 74 (+2) after landing two birdies and starting his round with six consecutive par or better showings. Shifflett ended his round with nine straight pars or better and also had two birdies for a 75 (+3) on the day.

David Mann led the team scoring on Saturday with a 76 (+4) and is tied for ninth in the field of 57 golfers. The senior had a 38 on the back and front of the course, with all three of his birdies on the front nine.

Louie Maniacci and Maddox Mallard are both tied for 20th with a 78 (+6). The duo were paired together and started on hole one. Maniacci made birdie to start his tournament and added another one on hole three. Mallard had three birdies during the round, with back-to-back on holes 14 and 15.

Connor Reinhard rounded out the team score with a 79 (+7) and is tied for 24th after day one. Reinhard had eight pars and two birdies on Saturday, with his birdies coming at holes five and 16.

Brian Slaughter is tied for 30th with an 80 (+8). He scored a 38 on the back nine and carded a 42 on the front, with birdies on holes five and 11. 

Seth Curry, playing as an individual, is tied for 35th with an 81 (+9). Curry had 12 pars on Saturday, recording seven consecutive pars on holes five through 11.
