Lexington, Ky. – The Shenandoah University Men's Golf Team competed in day one of the 2026 Transylvania Fall Invite in Lexington. The end of the second round would be suspended due to darkness and will be completed on Sunday morning. The Hornets competed at the University Club of Kentucky golf course - a 6,926-yard par 72 course.
Through 34-35 holes, the team sits in 3rd place in a gritty field with teams across multiple regions.
Braden Hermansky currently sits tied for first place in the field through 35 holes at -7.
Round 1
The Hornets' lineup got off to a slow start, hitting a combined 17 bogeys or worse on their opening nine holes. It wasn't until the team warmed up that they found their stride, propelling themselves from 13th to 2nd place at the end of round one.
Sophomores
Braden Hermansky and
Conor McCarthy both set new school records with 5-under par rounds in their opening round of the 2026-27 campaign, both shooting 67s. McCarthy holed eight birdies among three bogeys, while Hermansky cashed in 7 birdies and 2 bogeys.
First-year
Elliott Anthony's first collegiate round ended 1 over par as he tallied an eagle on hole 5, 4 birdies, 1 bogey, and two double bogeys, shooting a 73.
Caden Sherman would be the final score to count for Shenandoah, as he finished the round 4 over par, shooting a 76.
Mason DuHaime concluded the opening round at 80 (+8).
Round 2 - Suspended
After the early morning weather delay, the end of the second round for the Hornets was suspended due to darkness, with the team sitting having completed 16-17 holes for the round.
It was once again a tale of two halves for the Hornets, starting off slow before finding the birdies on the front nine of the course.
Mason DuHaime found his stride through 17 holes, as he led the Hornets at -4.
Braden Hermansky continues his under par performance, sitting at -2 through 17.
Conor McCarthy took a slight step back through 17, sitting at +2 alongside
Caden Sherman, who is through 16.
Elliott Anthony rounds out the five at +3 through 16 as well.

The Hornets will finish their final holes for Round 2 in the morning before completing the final round for the weekend.
