Men's Golf Places Fourth at Transylvania Invite; Hermansky Ties for First

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Shenandoah University men's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the season on Sunday, placing fourth at the Transylvania Fall Invite. The Hornets shot a 287 (-1) as a team for the final round, bringing their three-round total to an 856 (-8).

Braden Hermansky tied for first overall at the invite, shooting a three-round total of 207 (-9). During round three, he had a 70 (-2), matching his score from the second round. He started his day with a bogey but rebounded with nine straight holes of par or better, including four birdies on the front nine.

Conor McCarthy shot a team-low 69 (-3) for the third round, helping him tie for seventh overall with a 210 (-6). McCarthy landed three birdies on the front nine on Sunday and then went back-to-back birdies on holes 12 and 13.

Mason DuHaime came in next for the Hornets, tying for 46th along with Elliott Anthony. DuHaime shot a 75 (+3) on Sunday, while Anthony came in one stroke better with a 74 (+2). Anthony's score was helped by an eagle on the par-five, hole five. On that same hole, DuHaime sank his only birdie of the round.

Caden Sherman scored a 224 (+8) for these three rounds of play. On his final go around of the course, the senior carded a 74 (+2), which started off with nine straight holes of bogey-free golf, consisting of one birdie and eight pars.
