MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Hornet Club is to provide support for Shenandoah University Athletics and to ensure that our student-athletes and coaches have appropriate resources needed to compete for ODAC and National Championships. The Hornet Club provides funds for those expenses above standard operating budgets through annual fundraising efforts.  With the ever-increasing cost of competing at the NCAA Division III level, the Hornet Club support is critical!  Our goal is to provide the 22 teams the true Division III experience of the student-athlete while representing SU.  

Members of the Hornet Club enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that their gifts are ultimately an investment in the lives of our student-athletes; helping to provide them with the academic foundation, spiritual development, and character traits learned through athletic competition that are essential to success in life.  In addition, the Hornet Club is essential in helping increase the presence of NCAA Division III Athletics in the Winchester community.

ABOUT THE HORNET CLUB

The Hornet Club, the fundraising arm of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, exists to enhance the student-athlete experience of the university's 22 intercollegiate athletic teams and approximately 600 student-athletes.

Funds raised through Hornet Club initiatives have been used in the recent past for uniforms, equipment, practice and games-related computer software and special travel opportunities. All funds raised through the Hornet Club are earmarked for the university's student-athletes.

Any gift of $100 or above per year* provides for early access to season tickets for football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, and softball as well as hospitality access at selected athletics events. 

Hornet Club Members are also invited to Meet the Coaches events prior to the fall, winter, and spring seasons and other special events hosted by the athletic department. Donations may be tax-deductible as allowed by law.

*Gifts of $50 per year for young (graduates from 2016-22) alumni also qualify for Hornet Club Membership.
