1997 WOMEN'S SOCCER
DIXIE CONFERENCE CO-CHAMPIONS

The 1997 Women's Soccer Team well exceeded expectations. The Hornets were picked 6th out of 7 teams in the Dixie Preseason Poll following the departure of Andi Causey and Lisa Peterson - the last two head coaches who won a combined 3 conference games the last two seasons. First year Head Coach Lenny Paoletti had other plans. By guiding his team to its first conference title since the team began in 1989, displaying an undefeated conference season, and recruiting the eventual Dixie Conference Rookie of the Year at Goalkeeper, Paoletti would earn the Coach of the Year title year 1.
