Jordan Johnson

Jordan Johnson joined the cross country and track & field coaching staffs in August, 2022.

Johnson, a former NCAA Division III national champion, came to Shenandoah after serving as an assistant track & field coach at DII Lenoir-Rhyne University for two seasons. Prior to his experience at LRU, Johnson served internships at both Benedictine (Ill.) and Grand Valley (Mich.) State.

A 2019 Grand Valley State grad, Johnson was a six-time track All-America during his combined tenures at Benedictine and GSVU. In 2018, while at Benedictine, he won the NCAA Division III national championship in the indoor 200 meters and was the runner-up in both the 100 and 200 meters at the 2018 outdoor national championships. He was also named as the outstanding athlete at the 2018 indoor championships and as the Midwest Region Athlete of the Year.

After transferring to GSVU, he earned All-Region honors in the 60, 100, and 200-meter dashes.

As a coach, he has mentored 10 All-Regional athletes, six national qualifiers and a 4 x 100 meter relay team that earned All-America accolades.

With the Hornets, he is involved in all aspects of the program including practice and meet management, player development, academic monitoring, and recruiting.
