Dalton Rohrbaugh joined the Shenandoah University wrestling coaching staff in August 2023, bringing with him a wealth of experience from both high school and collegiate wrestling programs. At Shenandoah, Dalton plays a crucial role in organizing and implementing practices, scouting and recruiting prospective student-athletes, and managing various aspects of the team’s operations.
Before his current position with the Hornets, Dalton served as the an assistant coach at Mayfield Mat Academy from 2020 to 2023. During his time there, he was responsible for creating and executing practice plans, clinics, and special events, while fostering a respectful and supportive atmosphere for athletes and their families. Dalton’s leadership and organizational skills were key in helping the academy’s athletes achieve success both on and off the mat.
In addition to his coaching roles, Dalton gained valuable experience as an athletic department intern at Spring Grove Area High School in 2023. His responsibilities included marketing upcoming events, creating game day graphics, and assisting with budgeting efforts.
Dalton’s competitive background is equally impressive. As a collegiate wrestler, he a conference championship at Lock Haven University and was a two-time NCAA Division III All-American at York College of Pennsylvania. In 2023, he capped off his collegiate career as the NCAA Division III Runner-up, finishing with a remarkable 75-22 record, including a 52-4 mark in Division III competition.
At Shenandoah, Dalton is dedicated to helping the wrestling program reach new heights. His approach to coaching emphasizes hard work, discipline, and personal development, with a focus on building strong fundamentals and creating a positive team culture.
In his short time with the Hornets, Dalton has already made a significant impact, helping to guide the team toward success on the mat. His contributions extend beyond coaching, as he is actively involved in all aspects of the program, from recruiting to event management.
Rohrbaugh’s commitment to excellence and his passion for the sport of wrestling make him a valuable asset to the Shenandoah University athletic staff.
