Former George Mason University standout Chris Jenkins is heading into his fourth season as an assistant coach for the SU baseball program.

Jenkins comes to Shenandoah after serving as the head baseball coach at Anne Arundel Community College from 2016 to 2020. AACC qualified for the Region XX playoffs in both 2017 and 2018 and advanced to the Final Four in 2017.

Additionally, he mentored two NJCAA Academic All-America honorees during his four seasons with the program.

Prior to Anne Arundel, Jenkins served as an assistant coach at Annapolis (Maryland) High School and as a site director and lead instructor for the US Baseball Academy.

Jenkins is the son of Lew Jenkins, who was the head baseball coach at St. Mary's College of Maryland for more than 40 years. Jenkins' wife, Susan, is employed at Shenandoah University as the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

With the Hornets, Jenkins is involved with all aspects of the program and works most closely with the developmental program.
