WINCHESTER, Va. – The SU men's soccer team completed regular season play Tuesday afternoon with a 2-0 non-league loss to Catholic University of America.

CUA (9-8-2) used goals in the 21st and 87th minutes to clinch the victory in their season finale. Shenandoah (9-6-2) is not finished yet; they enter the Dixie Conference Tournament Friday evening in Greensboro, N.C. as the No. 3 seed in a four-team tournament. SU will face No. 2 seed Greensboro at 7:30 at Greensboro's Bryan Park Soccer Complex following the No. 1 Christopher Newport vs No. 4 NC Wesleyan contest.

The Cardinals took care of business early on a cold and rainy day in Winchester as Pat Hennessy scored an unassisted goal at the 20:35 mark. After the two teams traded scoring chances for the rest of the first and most of the second half, CUA sealed it when Curt Cannon took Keith Cappo's cross and slid his shot past diving SU keeper Tom Malinosky (Clearwater, Fla./Clearwater Catholic) with three minutes left.

Catholic keeper Todd Magin had two saves in the shutout while Malinosky turned away six shots. CUA outshot Shenandoah 14-7, including 8 to 2 on goal.
