WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team extended its winning streak to four games with its second shutout in as many days as the Hornets topped Mount Aloysius, 8-0, in a nonconference match Sunday afternoon.

The eight goals scored by the Hornets marked the largest margin of victory for the program since a similar 8-0 drubbing issued to Lincoln College (Penn.) on October 14, 2001.

Freshman Chad Blizzard (Owasso, Okla./Owasso) struck early and often for the Hornets (7-4-2) scoring the first three goals of his collegiate career in the first 25 minutes of the game. His first strike in the sixth minute was all SU would need to send the Mounties (1-13) home with a loss.

Seniors Manuel Barcia (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) and James Jackson (Chesapeake, Va./Old Dominion Univ.) also added goals in the 15th and 41st minutes, respectively to take a 5-0 lead to the intermission.

Sophomore Dave Schmitt (Brandon, Fla./Bloomingdale) and junior James Ketevong (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) netted scores in the second half and Jackson registered his second tally to end the scoring for the afternoon.

Goaltender Chris Peter (Chantilly, Va./NOVA) started the game in net for the Hornets and recorded one save for the win. He was relieved in the second half by Nate Post (Woodbridge, Va./Wiesbaden) who made a pair of saves and extended Shenandoah's current overall shutout streak to 391:52.
