NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport made it three volleyball victories in a row this season with a 3-0 (30-19, 30-21, 30-28) USA South victory over visiting Shenandoah Wednesday night.

With the loss, CNU (17-17, 12-2) has now completed the season sweep over Shenandoah (9-19, 6-7). The Lady Captains also have a victory over SU at the Washington & Lee Tournament that does not count toward league standings.

Sophomore Jenny Gray (Sumerduck, Va./Liberty) led the Hornets offense with 12 kills while junior Hannah Williams (Salem, Va./Glenvar) added 10. Senior Lesley Beard (Youngstown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) had 27 assists and a team high 13 digs to lead the defense.

Amber Bradshaw had a match high 13 kills for the hosts.

Shenandoah completes its regular season home slate Friday night at 6:30 with a USA South match against NC Wesleyan.
