WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's basketball team gained a sweep of the season series with NC Wesleyan Saturday afternoon by blowing the Lady Bishops out 77-50.

SU (11-9, 5-6) held NC Wesleyan (2-17, 1-10) to just three field goals in the first half as the Hornets took a 31-16 lead into the lockerroom. Wesleyan failed to score a field goal for the first 6:30 of the game and shot 3 for 23 (13.0 percent) in the initial 20 minutes. Only a 6-0 Wesleyan run in the final 1:49 prevented the lead from being in the 20 point range.

Shenandoah continue to pour on the pressure following the break; SU outscored its visitors 46-34 to help them cruise to the big victory.

Wesleyan could get no closer than 14 points the rest of the way and Shenandoah kept the margin at more than 20 points for the final 2:48.

Junior Katie Woods (Winchester, Va./Sherando) led four players in double figures with 21 points while freshman Dee Fisher (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) continued her strong play with 14 points and six rebounds.

Donna Davis was the only NCWC player in double figures. She had 10 points off the bench.
