FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Methodist College outscored visiting Shenandoah by 22 points in the first half Sunday afternoon to help propel themselves to a 69-45 victory over the Hornets in both team's regular season finales.
Methodist (16-9, 8-6) outscored Shenandoah 36-14 in the first 20 minutes of play behind 11 points from LaTasha Watlington and a stellar 46.2 performance (12 for 26) performance from the field. SU also did nothing to help itself as the Hornets shot just 6 for 29 (20.7 percent) and committed 13 turnovers.
Shenandoah was able to cut the deficit to within 10 with just under eight minutes remaining, but MC pulled away by scoring the next 12 points of the game.
Freshman Dee Fisher (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) once again led the Hornets in scoring; she had 14 points while classmate Joia Davis (Trenton, NJ/Stuart County) had a career high 14 rebounds.
Watlington had a game high 16 for the Lady Monarchs.

Shenandoah will now be off until playing in the first round of the Dixie Conference Tournament in Fayetteville next Thursday. The Hornets first round pairing will be announced Sunday night.
