MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The men's soccer team won not only its first game of the season Wednesday afternoon, but also the first game in USA South Conference men's soccer history with a 4-3 overtime victory at Chowan College.

Shenandoah (1-2-1) fought back from 2-1 and 3-2 deficits to force overtime and then snuck out the win on Mihailo Prelavic's (Podgorica, Montenegro/Olympic Heights) goal in the 103rd minute.

Prelavic blasted home a rebound of an Akmed Mansaray (Alexandria, Va./TC Williams) shot for his second consecutive goal of the contest. Prelavic sent the game into the extra period when he converted a Manuel Barcia (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) feed with just over five minutes remaining in overtime.

This goal capped a wild second half in which five goals were scored, including four in a 17 minute span at the beginning of the half.

Hornets keepers Kyle Hodges (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) and Chris Peter (Chantilly, Va./Northern Va CC) combined to make seven saves in the winning effort.
