ARLINGTON, Va. - Shenandoah University's women's soccer team lost a difficult non-conference match, 5-0, to Marymount University Friday evening.
With the loss the Hornets fell to 1-2 on the season while the Saints remained undefeated at 3-0 in a season where MU has outscored its opponents a collective 15-1.
Shenandoah fell behind early when MU scored its second unanswered goal in the 18th minute, but the Hornets would regroup on defense and not allow the Saints to score again for the remainder of the half.
Unfortunately, MU came out strong early in the second half as well, reistering a pair of goals in the first 15 minutes of the second stanza. Junior Laura Wilson (Hilo, Hi.) then iced the match for Marymount with her second goal on the evening off a corner in the 73rd minute.
Despite facing a barrage of shots from the opposition, SU sophomore goaltender Megan Ross (Harrisburg, Penn./HACC) recorded nine saves in the loss.
