FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Shenandoah University held the lead into the second half Sunday afternoon against No. 10 in the nation Mary Washington, but the host Eagles struck for two second half scores to take a 2-1 men's soccer victory at the Mary Washington Classic.
Junior Luis Collantes (Alexandria, Va./TC Williams) gave SU (0-2-1) the early lead when he converted a feed from Akmed Mansaray (Alexandria, Va./TC Williams) in the 28th minute.
Unfortunately for the visitors, MWC came back early in the second half. The Eagles (3-0) tied the game in the 53rd minute on an unassisted goal and then got the game winner six minutes later.
Junior Alex Lane (Chesterfield, Va./Meadowbrook) had five saves in 67 minutes of playing time to keep his side in the contest.
