Volleyball drops Two at McDaniel

WESTMINISTER, Md. - The SU volleyball team lost one heartbreaker and was swept in another to complete play at the McDaniel College Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Shenandoah (13-12) fell 3-2 (30-25, 30-27, 20-30, 11-30, 6-15) to the College of Notre Dame (Md.) in the morning match before Gallaudet took a 3-0 (30-13, 30-16, 30-25) decision in the consolation final.

Senior Hannah Williams (Salem, Va./Glenvar) had a team high 15 kills and 16 digs against the CND Gators while Jennifer Thompson (Forest, Va./Jefferson Forest) had 10 kills, 24 assists and 13 digs.

Freshmen Alexandra Hamlin (Berryville, Va./Clarke County) had 10 kills and classmates Jenna Warrenfeltz (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) and Christina Greene (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) chipped in 14 and 15 digs, respectively.

Williams again led the offense against Gallaudet with six kills. She also had a team high nine digs.

Shenandoah is off until traveling to Averett on Friday night for a USA South Conference match.
