DANVILLE, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team extended one streak while ending another Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 USA South Conference victory at Averett University.

Shenandoah (6-7-2 overall, 2-4 USA South) snapped a three-game conference losing streak with the win while extending its overall unbeaten streak to three. SU is 2-0-1 in the last three contests.

Today's game was for fifth place in the conference; the SU victory sends Averett (2-12, 1-5) into the post-season conference tournament as the No. 6 seed.

AU will face the No. 3 seed (likely Greensboro or CNU) in next Tuesday's first round. The Hornets will face the team that Averett doesn't in the No. 4 vs No. 5 game. It will be an away game for Shenandoah, who has qualified for the tournament for the fourth consecutive year.

The Hornets got Sunday's victory on the strength of two goals from junior Mihailo Prelevic (Podgorica, Montenegro/Olympic Heights) in the 20th and 52nd minutes. Prelevic got what proved to be the game winner off of a Jace Kenny (Tweed, Australia/Tweed River) assist and then banged home a Mark Hasson (Herndon, Va./Oakton) corner kick.

Junior Chris Peter (Chantilly, Va./Northern Virginia CC) made Prelevic's goals stand up by making three saves in a shutout performance. SU outshot the Cougars 20-3.

Freshman Mohamed Toure (Lorton, Va./Robert E. Lee) added an insurance goal in the 59th minute.
