Volleyball Wins Two More

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University volleyball team ran its winning streak to three games Saturday afternoon by sweeping a USA South Conference tri-match from Methodist and Peace colleges.

SU (7-4, 3-0) defeated Methodist 3-1 (26-20, 30-21, 30-25, 30-28) in the mornings first match before concluding the day's play with a 3-1 (30-28, 30-15, 26-30, 30-20) victory over Peace.

Peace defeated Methodist 3-2 (20-30, 24-30, 30-24, 30-28, 15-9) in the middle match of the day.

Senior Hannah Williams (Salem, Va./Glenvar) had a co-match high 13 kills in the MC match, while Michelle Chandler (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles West) added 13 assists. Jenna Warrenfeltz (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) was tops on defense with 10 digs.

Williams was once again the offensive story in the Peace match; she was one of four SU players in double figure kills with 13. Chandler and Jennifer Thompson (Forest, Va./Jefferson Forest) added 11 while Christina Greene (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) matched Williams with 13.

Warrenfeltz keyed the defensive effort again with a match high 13 digs.

Lindsay Kabbes led Peace to the middle match victory with 10 kills. This offset 17 by the Monarchs' Stephanie Sullivan.

Shenandoah continues USA South play on Sunday with a 2:00 match against Averett University.
