WINCHESTER, Va. - Marymount University took the championship of the 2004 Shenandoah University Women's Soccer Shootout Sunday afternoon by scoring the games only goal midway through the first half.
Marymount (3-0) got a goal from Laura Wilson in the 18th minute to take the early lead and then held on for the win.
The Saints could have pulled away, but SU keeper Lauren Elliott (Lynchburg, Va./EC Glass) kept the Hornets (1-2) in it by recording a second best in school history 19 saves. Elliott's performance trails only a 23 save outing by Stephanie Rush '04 in 2002.
MU took 42 shots in the game, including 23 in the first half.

Emory & Henry took third place at the tourney with a 5-0 victory over Trinity (D.C.) in Sunday morning's opening game.
Shenandoah is back in action this weekend at the Baldwin-Wallace Tournament.
