VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia Wesleyan used a quick start to its non-conference field hockey match to key a 6-1 victory over visiting Shenandoah Sunday afternoon.
VWC (8-2) led 2-0 at the half after scoring goals in the 7th and 19th minutes before pouring it on against the Hornets (1-6) after the break.
The Lady Marlins scored three goals in the first 18 minutes of the second, including one just 3:41 in, to pull away from their visitors.
Shenandoah got its goal in the 55th minute on an unassisted goal by juniorÂ
