WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team netted the equalizing goal with just 22 seconds to play in regulation Thursday afternoon to salvage a 1-1 non-league tie with Bridgewater College.

Freshman Sabrina Zehr corralled a Nikki Leonard deflection of a Lauren Carpinello service, tapped the ball home from the doorstep to knot the game at 1-1 and send it into overtime.

Shenandoah (0-0-1) took two of three overtime shots against BC (0-0-1), but neither team was able to get the golden goal. SU outshot the Eagles 8-5 for the game.

Bridgewater got the game's initial goal in the 70th minute when Ashley Virts blasted home a rebound of her first attempt - the two shots were the first that BC had on goal up to that point.

Eagles keeper Shelly Urrutia had seven saves while Lauren Elliott had one for the hosts.

SU is back in action this weekend with its third annual Shenandoah Shootout. The Hornets will take on Trinity in Saturday's second game.
