NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - League leading Christopher Newport University kept its USA South Conference mark perfect Tuesday night with a 3-0 (30-26, 31-29, 30-23) victory over visiting Shenandoah University.

CNU (14-2, 7-0 USA South) got nine kills from Sarah Brown and seven kills each from Ellen Koch, Liz Bush and Meghan Puckli to earn the win over Shenandoah (4-13, 0-7).

Sophomore Jennifer Thompson had eight kills to lead the Hornets defensively while Michelle Chandler added six.

Freshman Ashley Ballentine and sophomore Alex Hamlin were tops in the digs department with 10 and nine, respectively.

Catherine Beuerle had a co-game high 23 assists.

Shenandoah is off until Monday night in a home non-league match against Hood College.
