WINCHESTER, Va. - Meredith College captured the 2005 Shenandoah University Women's Soccer Shootout Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over the host Hornets.
Meredith (2-1) scored a pair of goals in a three-minute span early in the first half to dispatch the Hornets (1-1-1).
Jerica Mosers opened the scoring off of a Nicole Boucher assist at 14:55, and then Margot Childs got what proved to be the game-winner just over two minutes later. Awarded a direct kick from 40 yards out, Childs found the back of the net to give her side a 2-0 advantage.
