Men Get Shutout Victory

FREDERICK, Md. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team earned its first victory of the 2005 season Wednesday afternoon with a 1-0 non-league win at Hood College.

Shenandoah (1-1) got the game-winning goal when freshman Aaron McGuiness threaded a low shot through traffic to beat Hood (1-1) keeper Chad Baker in the 52nd minute.

Hood had an excellent opportunity with six minutes to play but the shot went wide of SU keeper Chris Peter.

Peter earned his first shutout of the season by making seven saves.
