Men's Soccer Wins Again

WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University won its second straight men's soccer game with a 2-0 victory over Division II Chowan University.

Shenandoah (2-10-2) earned the win with one goal in each half over the Hawks (1-13-1).

Junior Will Weber got what proved to be the game-winner in the 24th minute when he took a through pass from Freddie Ventura, tapped it around a defender and knocked his shot into the right panel.

Just over eight minutes into the second half, freshman David Winskillgave SU an insurance tally with his tally off an Aaron McGuiness cross.

Shenandoah outshot Chowan 28-3 for the game including 18-1 in the second half.

CU keeper Josh Cenci had 14 saves while Brian Garretson had two for the Hornets. Garretson has now posted two straight shutouts.

Box Score 

SU returns to action on Wednesday with a non-league game against Gallaudet. Game time is 3:00.
