WASHINGTON, D.C. – Host Catholic University kept the Shenandoah University men's soccer team winless on the 2006 season with a 4-0 victory Tuesday afternoon at DuFour Field.

The Cardinals (1-2-1) earned their first victory of the fall with goals in the 30th, 51st, 58th and 89th minutes against the Hornets (0-5). The contest was a physical one – a total of three yellow and two red cards were issued and Catholic scored its second and fourth goals via penalty kick.

Aside from the scoreboard, the contest was virtually even. Both teams took 10 shots in the game and CUA had three corner kicks to Shenandoah's two.

SU keeper Brian Garretson had four saves while a pair of Catholic keepers combined to turn away five Hornets shots.
