ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Host NC Wesleyan scored a pair of goals early in the second half to earn a 2-0 USA South Conference women's soccer victory over visiting Shenandoah University Saturday afternoon in the two team's conference opener.

Wesleyan (1-1-1, 1-0 USA South) scored goals in the 53rd and 59th minutes to earn its second straight victory over the Hornets (1-3, 0-1).

NCWC outshot Shenandoah 24-9, including 15-5 in the first half. They also had 10 of the game's 12 corner kicks.

SU keeper Lauren Elliott made nine saves.
