RALEIGH, N.C. - Shenandoah University earned its first USA South Conference volleyball victory of the 2007 season Saturday afternoon when it downed host Peace, 3-1, in the first meeting of a tri-match with the Pacers and N.C. Wesleyan.

Shenandoah (8-16, 1-11 USA South) downed PC 30-24, 30-21, 28-30, 30-26 before the Lady Bishops swept SU 30-23, 30-10, 30-11 in the day's final contest.

Peace falls to 10-18, 3-9 after the day's play while NCWC is 17-10, 8-4.

Senior Jennifer Thompson led the Hornets to the victory with a co-game-high 16 kills while also posting 14 digs. Shenandoah totaled 75 digs in the four-game match, with Amber DeHaven's 28 leading the way.

Michelle Chandler just missed a triple-double - she had nine kills, 24 assists and 14 digs.

The Bishops made quick work of things in the second match of the day, taking just 67 minutes to earn the victory. Sophomore Chevon Parkerhad a team-high eight kills for Shenandoah.
