STAUNTON, Va. - Shenandoah University earned its second straight women's soccer victory Wednesday afternoon with a 6-1 USA South Conference win at Mary Baldwin.
Shenandoah (5-11, 3-5 USA South) surpasses last season's win total with the win over the Fighting Squirrels (2-12-1, 1-6-1).
SU also knows it will now be at least the No. 7 seed at next week's USA South Conference Tournament - the Hornets could rise to No. 5 with a win over Ferrum on Saturday in the regular season finale.
FreshmanÂ
Kaitlin Naill keyed the win with a season high nine points on four goals and one assist. She had a natural hat trick to start the game, scoring in the 10th, 24th and 35th minutes to give coachÂ
Liz Pike's side a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
Mary Baldwin got on the board early in the second, but Shenandoah answered with three more goals to coast to the easy win.
Box Score
The Hornets host Ferrum Saturday afternoon at 3:00 in a USA South Conference contest.
