WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Catholic University used a three-goal burst early Wednesday afternoon to key an 8-1 non-league women's soccer victory over host Shenandoah.
Catholic (7-1-2) scored in the 15th, 18th and 19th minutes to jump out to a 3-0 advantage over the Hornets (3-7).

Krista Pattison got SU back into the game with an unassisted goal in the 32nd minute, but the Cardinals answered back 11 minutes later to hold a three-goal halftime advantage.
Elyse Bellardini had two goals for the victors, including the opener at 14:08. Kelly Donnelly set up Suzie Peters for what proved to be the game-winner at 17:41.
Peters had a game-high three goals and six points for CUA. The Cardinals outshot Shenandoah 38-3, including 22-1 in the second half.

Samantha LoPreto made a season-high 15 saves.
