FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The shorthanded SU women's soccer team gave it everything they had Saturday afternoon in a 6-0 USA South Conference women's soccer loss at Methodist University.

Shenandoah (3-8, 1-3 USA South) started the game with just nine players and finished with eight after starting keeper Samantha LoPretowent down with an injury two minutes before halftime.

LoPreto had allowed two goals and made a career-high 16 saves when she had to leave with the injury.

Freshman Kaitlin Naill, the Hornets leading scorer, played the final 47:14 in goal and made 15 stops. Methodist (9-2, 4-0) took 73 shots on the afternoon, including 38 on goal.

The Lady Monarchs got all of the offense they would need in the 23rd minute when Brianna Cella finished off a Whitney Roberson cross from right on the SU doorstep.

MU added goals in the 27th, 51st, 55th, 66th and 81st minutes to coast to the victory.

In addition to their 73-3 shot advantage, the Lady Monarchs took all 10 of the game's corners.
