Eastern Mennonite Downs Volleyball

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Host Eastern Mennonite University prevented Shenandoah from starting another volleyball winning streak Tuesday night with a 3-1 non-league victory.

EMU (7-16) won the match 30-21, 30-27, 25-30, 30-25; SU (7-14) had been looking for its second win in the last three matches.

Seniors Michelle Chandler and Jennifer Thompson once again contributed a pair of triple-doubles – Chandler had 12 kills, 22 assists and 10 digs while Thompson had 12, 17 and 17 for the Hornets.

Chevon Parker added seven kills with Chandler and Jessi Johnson posting five block assists each.

Megan Good and Frances Pfister had 15 and 14 kills, respectively, for the Royals. Eastern Mennonite had at least 13 kills in each of the first three games.

Shenandoah returns to action Thursday night with a USA South Conference match against Ferrum. Game time is 7 p.m.
