WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Alvernia College scored twice in the first half and three more in the second to coast to a 5-0 non-league women's soccer victory over host Shenandoah University Saturday afternoon.

Stephanie Loftus and Brandi Light scored two times each for the Lions (1-0) in the win over Shenandoah (0-1). Alvernia took 12 of the 15 first half shots.

SU keeper Kelsey Long made nine saves, including seven in the first half, but AC pulled away with goals in the 47th, 49th and 62nd minutes.

Kaitlin Naill and Jen Stoup each had three shots for the Hornets.
