DANVILLE, Va. - Perennial league power Averett University and upstart Methodist kept Shenandoah University from its first USA South Conference volleyball victories of the season with a 3-0 and 3-1 wins Saturday at the Grant Center.
Averett (6-6, 2-0 USA South) kept its all-time record perfect over SU (5-5, 0-3) with the 30-26, 30-20, 30-21 win before Methodist was a 3-1 (30-17, 26-30, 30-22, 30-20) victor.

Michelle Chandler led coach Sarah Pelster's club offensively in the AU match with eight kills and 12 assists. ClassmateÂ
Jennifer Thompson added seven kills and nine assists.
Defensively,Â
Jennie Haywood had 11 of the team's 37 digs, with Chandler and Thompson chipping in eight and six, respectively.
Against Methodist (5-5, 1-1), Chandler had 11 kills, 17 assists and 11 digs with Thompson adding 11, 16 and 15. Haywood had a team-high 22 digs.
