WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University earned its first USA South Conference women's soccer victory of the season Saturday afternoon with a 7-1 home win over Peace College.
Shenandoah (1-5, 1-1 USA South) scored three goals in the first 10:43 of the contest to take an insurmountable lead over the Pacers (1-6-1, 0-2).
Freshman
Kaitlin Naill had three goals in the first half, scoring at 2:33, 27:14 and 28:17 to help the hosts to a 5-1 halftime lead.
Peace got on the board in the 41st minute when Harlonda Smith finished off a long through pass from Haley Bright.
The Hornets completed the days scoring with unassisted goals by
Renee Summerson and
Krista Pattison at 50:26 and 57:47, respectively.
SU outshot the Pacers 16-5 and had 14 of the game's 15 corners.
