MURFREESBORO, N.C. - Host Chowan College erased an early one-goal deficit to down Shenandoah 3-2 in non-league men's soccer action Saturday afternoon.

The Division II Hawks (2-10) snapped a 10-match losing streak with the victory over SU (2-10).

Freshman Robert Peck had given Shenandoah the initial lead with his goal off of an Aaron McGuiness assist in the 9th minute, but CU registered the equalizer three minutes later.

Midway through the half, Chowan took the lead for good when they converted a penalty kick following a foul in the SU box. Hornets keeper Brian Garretson took down a Hawks forward on a breakaway, and was sent off with an automatic red card.

Forced to play a man-down for the final 66 minutes, the Hornets gave up an insurance goal in the 55th minute.

Adam Aldinger scored the final goal of the game with just under eight minutes remaining.
