HARRISONBURG, Va. - Shenandoah University completed its
non-conference volleyball slate Thursday evening with a 3-1 victory
at Eastern Mennonite.
After EMU (10-16) was a 25-9 winner in the opening set,
Shenandoah (13-14) roared back to win 25-21, 25-14, 27-25 in sets
two through four.
The victory gives the Hornets an 11-2 record in non-league
matches.
Sophomore Rachel
Maki paced the victors with a team-high 13 kills; she also
hit .522 for match.
Amber
DeHaven had match-high 22 digs while Mary
Harshman and Megan
Gillispie added 17 and 15, respectively.
Emily
Jones was dominant from the service line with six service
aces and just missed joining DeHaven, Harshman and Gillispie in
double-figure digs by posting nine.
Freshman Kelcy
Brown rounded out the players with a double-digit stat by
serving up 39 assists.
Shenandoah wraps up its home schedule on Saturday with a
tri-match against Methodist and Averett. Play begins at noon.
