HARRISONBURG, Va. - Visiting Shenandoah University opened up its
2009 men's soccer season Tuesday night with a scoreless tie against
host Eastern Mennonite.
Shenandoah (0-0-1) pelted the EMU (0-0-1) goal with 24 shots and
had seven of the game's eight corner kicks, but could not find the
back of the net.
Half of those shots were on goal, as Royals keeper Dillon Brunk
had 12 saves to keep his side in the contest.
SU keeper Arman
Bozorgmanesh was equal to the task, but was forced to make
only three saves in the 110-minute contest.
Shenandoah is back in action this weekend at the Hampden-Sydney
Tournament. The Hornets face both the host Tigers as well as
Lynchburg College.
